How Deep is Your Faith?

Para kaming styrofoam, na kahit ilubog kami sa ilalim [ng dagat], lulutang pa rin kami dahil sa aming kababawan.

We’re like styrofoam, even you put us into deep [of the ocean], still we will surface because of our shallowness“, words from a friend. She is pertaining about her faith in this one. Faith of believing and living for God. She is a believer, she has a faith, but it’s not enough according to her.

She undergone to an interview for a youth activity. I don’t know exactly the questions that have been asked to her, but those words were enough to say that it were all about the ‘faith’, about her ‘faith’. But can we really measure how deep is our faith? Honestly, I don’t know. Faith for me is something undefined.  It is more of personal. It is more of how we live our life and how we connect to the one above. We have different kinds of faith because we have different personality.

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. (Romans 12:3)

As from the text, our faith varies with each other. I have a faith, you have a faith, they have their own faith. As I mentioned, it is more of personal, but let us not forget it is a gift from God. It is a gift that we shouldn’t lose and should never stop. But we should learn how to strengthen it, to amplify and to extend it. It’s like a seed  that we should water and take good care of to grow beautifully. Faith is really a special thing within our heart. It is where we’re holding when everything seems went wrong. When we feel helpless, hopeless. Faith is when we lose all the possible things but yet we still believe in Him. Faith.

And for my friend who felt that her faith wasn’t enough as an offering to God, I’ll say you this… And maybe because of your shallowness, and because you will surface from the depths [of the sea], maybe by it, when you float again up you can save someone who’s drowning at that same moment. Maybe you feel that you have a small faith inside of you right now, but don’t forget that everything starts empty, it starts from little, and it will be enough that you will be called a child to Him. And by your faith, you will be saved.
